Admissions

Admissions to Nursery

Nursery 2Our Nursery invites prospective pupils and their parents to a weekly Toddler Group Session on a Monday morning. This is often the first opportunity that children have to come to experience learning through play, and proves to be a very valuable experience. Parents apply formally for a place in our Nursery Class via the School Office. Children can start Nursery in the month after their third birthday, however there is only one main intake to Nursery which is in September each year.

Applying for a Reception place for September 2017

Rec 1

The closing date for applications is 15 January 2017.

If your child was born between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013 they are due to start in the Reception class at a primary school from September 2017.

You must apply for a Reception class for your child even if they attend a school nursery or have an older brother or sister at your preferred school.  If your child currently attends a nursery attached to a school this does not give them any priority for a place in Reception at that school.

The eAdmissions website for online applications opens on 1 September and the closing date for applications is 15 January 2017.

The booklet Starting Primary School 2017  (click to download) contains all the information you need to know about applying for a Reception class place, including:

    • arrangements for selecting the pupils who apply
    • our oversubscription criteria (ie. how places are offered if there are more applicants than places)
    • an explanation of the process you need to follow to apply for a place at Greenleaf for your child.

If your child attends a nursery (either attached to a school or independent) a copy of the booklet will be sent home with your child. If your child does not attend nursery or you do not receive a copy, you will be able to download it via the link above or from the Waltham Forest website in September www.walthamforest.gov.uk

Admissions for Older Children

Families with older children, who arrive new to the area, must also apply directly to the Local Authority - contact details above.
