Please bring book bags in to change reading books every day.

Thank you

Check out the school website for a link to the film made about our day at the Barbican.

Year 4 had a fabulous frosty day in Epping Forest on Friday.

Spring Term

Following a really successful first half of the spring term, we have launched straight into our Spring 2 topics. We continue the theme of Wolves and our two focus non-fiction texts are Wolves in the Walls and Wolves.

Literacy

This term we will be reading Wolves in the walls and Wolves. These two fantastic picture books are language rich and will help us to write our own stories as well as write an information text and some persuasive letters and leaflets.

Maths

We will have a massive drive on Greenleaf Goes For Gold in this term. Please encourage your children to bring home Greenleaf Goes For Gold sheets to practise. Remember each challenge should be completed within two minutes! As well as a focus on number, we will be looking at 2D and 3D shapes and measure. Please encourage your children to get involved with cooking at home and understanding the importance of measure in real life contexts.

We have been working systematically to find all possibilities in more open ended challenges.

Topic

Our topic this term is Wolves. This ties in really nicely to last half term's work around the Ice Palace and wild settings as we explore the lives of wolves. In geography we will look at topographical maps while in science we will be focussing on the teeth and digestive system.

A huge thank you to all the parents who have helped us out on trips and thank you all for attending parents evening. We look forward to a busy build up to the Easter break.
